The Art of Travel Photography – Can It Be Driven by Emotion?

The Art of Travel Photography – Rules of Composition

The art of travel photography can take on many different hues of emotion when creating images of people, places, and things.  When embarking on your adventure, you may be thinking of rules of composition you’ve learned:  rule of thirds, dynamic lines, leading lines, contrasting shapes and colors, and of course, dramatic camera angles and lighting.  These are all important aspects of good photography but not hard and fast “rules”.

The Art of Travel Photography – Emotionally Powerful

The art of travel photography can also be driven by pure emotion.  It is, in essence, seeing the thoughts you witness reflected in the faces of the beings you encounter – whether human or animal.  Each encounter, or series of encounters, tells a story and evokes an emotional response you’ve captured with your camera at the “decisive moment” it’s recognized.  It is intuitive.

During this presentation Lorne Resnick lays out an 8-point structure to consistently create emotionally powerful travel images. Whether you enjoy shooting wildlife, landscape, people.

I hope you find the presentation on the art of travel photography inspiring and motivating.
