How to Use Leading Lines for Powerful Photographic Composition – Portrait Photography

Using leading lines to create depth and dimension in your photographic compositions will make them more visually interesting and engaging.  Since a photograph is two-dimensional, the challenge is to use elements in the scene that are natural leading lines to the main subject.  We can also us the light source to our best advantage to accentuate highlights and shadows.  In post processing, we can also use “dodging and burning” to create contrast that emphasizes highlight and shadow that lead the eye to the main point of interest.
